ALEX BASICH

Alex is a longtime journeyman in the hospitality, marketing/promotions, and beverage industries. Whether it was bartending in college or driving Mr. Peanut’s Hot Rod around sporting events after college, Alex helps his guests find memorable and approachable experiences while making them feel included in the story.

After spending ten years creating successful campaigns as a marketer with RJ Reynolds, Pabst Brewing Co., and Goose Island Beer Co, Alex was presented with the opportunity to open Vintage Wine Bar in Chicago’s Wicker Park. He spent five years there crafting his palate while always seeking to educate himself in the expansive libation universe. After Vintage Wine Bar, he opened his version of a friendly neighborhood bottle shop, The Noble Grape. There he created a following by helping people drink well for over 11 years until he sold the shop in March 2020.

Currently, Alex is the General Manager of ERIS Brewery & Cider House, Illinois’ first women-owned Cidery. He is continuing to educate himself by seeking a Pommelier certification through the Apple Cider Association. A BevTest wine, beer, and spirits panelist since 2022, he has certifications through the Court of Sommeliers, WSET, and Cicerone.org.
